Prayer in Anxiety

For a restless mind

Pause here with God. He cares for you, and you can bring Him what feels heavy.

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

A prayer brought before God

Hannah brought her deep sorrow to the Lord and poured out her heart in prayer. After Eli spoke peace to her, she went on her way, ate, and was no longer downcast. The account continues: the Lord remembered her, and she gave birth to Samuel, naming him in gratitude for the child she had asked of God. Her story invites us to trust God with our sorrow and pray with confidence in His care, power and wisdom.

1 Samuel 1:10–20

Let us pray.

God, my thoughts feel loud and heavy. You know what I cannot untangle.

I bring my worries to You honestly and ask for Your peace — the kind that does not depend on circumstances. Guard my heart.

Steady my breath. Remind me I am not alone.

Amen.

Carry this assurance with you.

Bring your requests to God with thanksgiving. His peace can guard your heart and mind through Christ Jesus as you entrust your cares to Him.

Philippians 4:6–7
