Release Unto Him

Entrusting our care to God while responding faithfully to what is ours to do.

We come to 1 Peter 5:5–11, with 1 Peter 5:7 at the centre of our attention. Peter speaks of humility, God’s care, watchfulness and shared suffering. Those belong together. We will look at the passage carefully before bringing one concern from our own lives into it.

This study considers how to bring our cares to God while remaining attentive to the responsibilities and people before us. Release Unto Him does not mean abandoning responsibility or proving that we can feel calm. It means entrusting ourselves to the God who cares for us while responding faithfully to what is ours to do.

As you begin, give one concern a plain name. You can keep it private. We will deepen our understanding, reflect on a practical response, and bring that response into prayer. What would it mean to face this concern with God’s care around it?
