Come to Jesus with the faith you have today. You can speak honestly about your trust, your questions and your need for help.
And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.
A prayer brought before God
A father brought his suffering son to Jesus and asked for compassion and help. When Jesus spoke about belief, the father cried out that he believed and asked for help with his unbelief. Jesus delivered the boy and lifted him by the hand. The father’s honest prayer gives us words for bringing our own need to Christ.
Mark 9:17–27Let us pray.
Lord Jesus, I believe, and I bring You the places where I struggle to trust.
Meet my questions with Your truth and draw me closer through Your Word.
Help me pray honestly, even when my words are simple. Strengthen my faith in who You are, and teach me to follow You one day at a time.
Amen.
Carry this assurance with you.
Keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of faith. Let His faithfulness call you forward as you learn to trust Him.
