Bring God the waiting, the interruption or the frustration before you. Ask for patience that keeps room for kindness.
Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
A prayer brought before God
Simeon was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit had revealed that he would see the Lord’s Christ. Led by the Spirit into the temple, he received the child Jesus in his arms and praised God. His waiting was rooted in God’s particular promise. His response encourages us to remain attentive to God as we wait, without assuming that every desire will be fulfilled in the same way.
Luke 2:25–32Let us pray.
Father, help me wait without losing tenderness toward the people around me.
You know where I feel delayed or frustrated. Give me patience to listen, wisdom to act when action is needed, and grace to release the timing I cannot control.
Shape my words before I speak them. Teach me to trust You and remain faithful in this season.
Amen.
Carry this assurance with you.
James points to the farmer’s patient waiting and calls believers to steady their hearts. Ask God to help you remain faithful and gentle while you wait.
