You can return to God with the places that need renewing. Begin with honesty and make room for His mercy.
Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
A prayer brought before God
After His resurrection, Jesus spoke with Peter beside the sea. Three times He asked whether Peter loved Him, and He entrusted him with the care of His sheep. He then called Peter to follow Him. This encounter, after Peter’s earlier denial, shows Christ drawing His disciple back into faithful service and invites us to bring our need for renewal to Him.
John 21:15–19Let us pray.
Father, I come to You with the places where I have grown discouraged or lost my way.
Help me turn honestly toward Your mercy. Renew my attention to Your Word and restore a willing heart within me.
Give me courage to make things right where I can, and help me receive support for the changes I need. Lead me into a faithful beginning today.
Amen.
Carry this assurance with you.
God’s compassion does not fail, and His mercies are new every morning. Turn toward Him and begin with the faithful step you can take today.
