Set aside the next task for a moment. You are welcome to pause, listen and bring your tired heart to Jesus.
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
A prayer brought before God
Martha welcomed Jesus into her home, while Mary sat at His feet and listened to His words. Troubled by the work of serving, Martha brought her concern to Him. Jesus gently addressed her worry and affirmed Mary’s choice to listen. This moment invites us to make room for His presence within the demands of daily life.
Luke 10:38–42Let us pray.
Jesus, I come with unfinished tasks and a heart that finds it hard to be still.
Help me receive this moment with You. Show me what can wait, and free me from the need to carry everything at once.
Restore my attention to Your Word and my strength for ordinary life. Teach me to rest in Your care.
Amen.
Carry this assurance with you.
Jesus invites you to learn from Him, for He is gentle and lowly in heart. Bring your burdens to Him and receive His invitation to rest.
Matthew 11:29–30
