Consider one person or need before you. Ask God to help you offer practical care with wisdom and a willing heart.
As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
A prayer brought before God
Tabitha, also called Dorcas, was known for good works and care for those in need. After she died, widows showed Peter the garments she had made. Peter prayed, and she was restored to life. The account reveals God’s power and also remembers the practical care she had given. Her example encourages us to let our gifts become acts of love.
Acts 9:36–42Let us pray.
Father, help me notice where I can offer care today.
Show me how to use the time, skills and resources You have placed in my hands. Keep my service honest and kind, without a need to control the outcome or receive praise.
Give me wisdom about my limits and willingness to work alongside others. Let love become a practical gift to someone who needs it.
Amen.
Carry this assurance with you.
Use your freedom to serve one another through love. A thoughtful act of care can begin with the person and opportunity before you.
